 FAQs

  • Yes! Wedge open studio is available to ceramic hobbyists and artists who already have pottery experience. If you haven’t done any courses or don’t have any wheel experience, sign up for our beginner classes to get the experience you need. Or reach out to hello@wedgeclay.ca to ask about private lessons.

  • Studio time is booked by 1.5 hour blocks. You can choose to book blocks back to back, and you can use your hours at any time over the course of the month. Hours do not roll over.

  • Nope! Wedge Community Clay offers Plainsman M340 and M370 clay bodies, which members will purchase from us. The cost of the clay offsets the cost of firing. As Wedge grows and we begin to scale, we are looking forward to bringing in additional clay bodies. Likewise, Wedge has developed a few signature glazes, underglazes, and stains for members to use. We will continue to develop additional colours as we grow. If you have a specific colour you’d love to see, please let us know! If you have an unopened, made-in-Canada glaze you’re dying to use, please reach out to us by email, hello@wedgeclay.ca.

  • Wedge knows that Goldenites often have to work away and we are trying to figure out how to accommodate schedules. Please reach out to us with your specific situation, we’d love to work with you: hello@wedgeclay.ca.

  • At this time we do not have an established firing schedule. Kiln fires will depend on amount of work to be fired, workflow and class work. Wedge will keep members up to date on firing schedules on the members site.

  • Maybe! Wedge is open to offering community firing. Please get in touch via email: hello@wedgeclay.ca.

  • Our studio operates on a monthly membership fee basis. Members have the option to cancel their membership at any time. Upon cancellation, a refund will be issued for the months remaining beyond the current month. Refunds will not be provided for the ongoing month in which the cancellation occurs; however, any subsequent months for which membership fees have been paid will be refunded minus a $35 processing fee.
