Wedge Community Clay has been in the works since Fall 2022.

Since purchasing a home studio set-up during peak pandemic and taking pottery lessons locally, we have been dreaming of a purpose-built studio space where we could practice with like-minded folks. We decided to develop Golden’s first open pottery studio where members could practice and create on their own time, alongside other passionate and excited potters.

Last winter and spring, we were on the hunt for the perfect commercial space, which is a tall order in Golden! In October 2023, we found our current studio space on 9th Street North thanks to a good friend. By December 2023 we had a lease, the keys, and a plan.

Over the last month we have been building the studio from scratch. We would not have been able to do it without the help of our community. We are fortunate to have incredible people who are willing to lend us their time, tools, truck, advice, expertise, feedback, wood shop, and constant encouragement.

Wedge Community Clay is about and for Golden. We love the scrappy, DIY ethos that permeates this town and believe that we also inhabit this attitude. We want to offer Golden a creative outlet, an indoor activity to enjoy during the dark winter nights and hot summers, and a place to meet and make connections and community.
